It smells good, but I highly doubt those oils really have anything to do with my optimism... however, I am attempting to be optimistic that tomorrow will bring an email filled with details!
Optimism is a little difficult for me since my personality type supposedly leans the other way... I had to take this personality test, and this learning style finder for a class discussion we're having next week. I'll let you know how it goes. Feel free to share your own results with the class ;)
This "optimism" roller reminds me of a classroom teacher that I used to observe. She gave out "special smelling stickers" to those students exhibiting excellent behavior. She had an entire drawer full of lip smackers chapstick and would just put a little dab on student's hands. They got so excited trying to figure out which smell she had just applied. It was a true treat. It's those little things in life that can be so encouraging and so motivating.
Speaking of motivation, I created this video this afternoon
to motivate my students to read a biography about Stan and Jan Berenstain that my classmates and I wrote.
I'm becoming such a little teacher and creating so many videos and podcasts and projects for my future classroom. I had to join teachertube so I could share all my work/find it again if my computer ever crashes!
Speaking of crashing, fall is crashing in all around me. And I've been soaking it up... I guess I never realized how much I truely adore fall because I am absolutely obsessed with summer. The weather hasn't been particularly fallish, but it hasn't been very summery either. I have been enjoying runs outside at the park almost every day, and just being outside in general. We took the fourth graders to sit outside at the picnic tables and "find some inspiration" for their creative writing one day last week. They loved it, almost every single one of them finished their assignment... which never happens.
Because of this new found love for fall I was EXTREMELY excited when sister presented me with a loaf of pumpkin bread and a jar of Russian Tea... also thoughtful presents from my mommy.
The freshness of fall prompted me to freshen up the house today as well. It's been a laundry, movies, and homework kind of Sunday funday. Hope yours has been equally productive.
NEWS TOMORROW?! Here's to optimisim!
Cheers,
